The Walking Dead is a monthly publication of "comics" or "comic", published in the U.S. by Image Comics beginning in 2003. The story was created and written by Robert Kirkman and artist Tony Moore, replaced by Charlie Adlard from issue # 7, but continued to draw the covers until issue # 24. The series tells the story of a group of people trying to survive in a world hit by a zombie apocalypse. In Brazil, the series is published as a bound for HQM Publisher. In Portugal is being published by Devir Bookstore.
The series had great sales during its launch but has gained great popularity with time. In 2006, the first draft of the thirty-third edition of the series sold out in just 24 hours. In 2010 the series won the Eisner Award for best continuing series, announced at San Diego Comic-Con.
